What is Alsharqiya Gets Creative?
Alsharqiya Gets Creative is the largest community initiative in Saudi Arabia. First set in motion by the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), Alsharqiya Gets Creative is a locally-driven, multi-week celebration of creativity that takes place throughout the Eastern Province each November. Driven by hundreds of programs and activations led by local entities, it offers residents of Eastern Province communities the chance to participate in community efforts, further their own creativity, and hone their skills across a vast range of creative endeavors. It seeks to support the Eastern Province’s status as a top Saudi creative destination.
How can I apply as a creative partner or participant to Alsharqiya Gets Creative? Are there any requirements?

Can I submit more than one registration form?
Yes, an entity can submit more than one application during the registration time.
Can I submit a previous work?
No, participation must be innovative and up-to date. It should be announced for the first time during this initiative.
What is the duration of Alsharqiya Gets Creative initiative?
Will be announced later.
Will the initiative provide the participants an outlet for selling at Ithra?
No, there will be no space provided at Ithra. The participant or entity should launch the initiative at their own platform – either online or at a brick-and-mortar facility.
Who can participate in this initiative?
All entities – governmental, commercial and non-profits — from different sectors are invited to participate.
Can I participate as an individual?
Your participation as an individual requires having an official logo as identification (for example, a solo artist must provide their logo).
What happens after registration?
Participations will be sorted according to the terms and conditions in the registration form. You will be contacted by Ithra if you match them.

Selected participants’ work will be displayed on the Ithra website.
Is there a registration fee?
No, registering is free.
What should the participation’s content include?
We are looking for creative ideas, programs and activations that align with any of Alsharqiya Gets Creative’s participation domains, along with a description of the type of participation and its specific location.

Can I change the content of the participation after the registration?
Yes, but no later than the end date of the registration on the initiative’s page.

Should the participants target a specific age?
The initiative is aimed at all ages.
Does the Center provide awards or money prize for the participants?
The selected participants will not receive awards or a money prize for their participation.
Will there be a winner at the end of the initiative?
There will be no winners in the initiative. All the selected participations will be displayed on the Ithra website at the end of the initiative.
Is the initiative for Saudi entities only?
No, the initiative is open for everyone.
Can I participate as an individual?
An individual needs to have a registered logo, or to belong to an entity, in order to participate.
