This workshop operates as an introduction to geodesic domes, an iconic structure now indelibly associated with the life and career of their inventor, Richard “Bucky” Buckminster-Fuller. An architect, inventor, futurist and philosopher with a reputation for generosity and optimism, Buckminster-Fuller was an early pioneer of sustainable design who recognized the need to balance humanity’s needs with those of the planet. Working in small groups, participants will learn the fundamentals of geodesics before designing and prototyping their own four-meter-wide dome.
