Course Description:


This creative and artistic course is suitable for calligraphy lovers and those with a passion for digital arts to help them create an art piece while combining tech tools with Arabic calligraphy. During this course the participants will acknowledge the basics and principles of artistic design, graphic art, technical terminologies, advance tools and the special apps that can process graphics and Arabic calligraphy. 
 The participants in this course will get acquainted with the needed technology in order to transfer handwriting into digital font, and practice the skills needed to draw the letters in vector format using Adobe illustrator. By the end, participants should be able to make striking art pieces using the techniques they learned throughout the course. 
 

 Learning objectives:

  • Creatively combining tradition and tech in calligraphy.
  • Demonstrating the ability of developing Arabic handwriting into digital art.
  • Merging the gap between the classic traditional art and contemporary art and making them homogenous. 

 
 Learning outcomes:

  •  Participants will gain essential knowledge in digital art and its tools.
  • Participants will practice converting traditional handwriting into a digital form. 
  • Participants will create artistic digital works as inspired by Arabic calligraphy. 
  • Participants will design and craft classic handwritten calligraphy through the use of technology. 

 

 Course requirements: Personal laptop - downloading Adobe illustrator.

The Saudi artist and licensed Arabic calligrapher Siraj Reda Allaf, has worked as an Engineering Consultant and holds a Ph.D. candidate in artificial intelligent and art. 
Mr. Allaf has achieved many awards and accomplishments. As one of the most famous teachers in the field of Arabic calligraphy, he is known for his pioneering efforts in integrating AI and Arabic calligraphy.
