The Impact of Al-Mutanabbi on Other Cultures

What is the value of introducing Al-Mutanabbi, who introduced himself once saying: "The horses, the night and the desert know me…"? What is the value of reinstating his poetic brilliance while he had proudly said: "I'm the one whose literature captured the sight of the blind..." This is what it always feels like to meet Al-Mutanabbi. A meeting where you end up asking: "What more can one say after?" With this wonder, we find ourselves taking the first steps to study this personality and dive deeper into its poetry. We meet in this session today to ponder over the influence of Al-Mutanabbi on other cultures and we see how his influence went beyond the Arabic literature to reach Persian and other global literatures.
