The Barn Burners consists of three large-scale glass structures in different red hues, all with smaller sculptures inside. The inside sculptures are made from a range of materials and material mixes, with the aim of showing the “stages” and growths” that appear through ingestion and exposure, and how they manifest in our bodies.

Ane Graff’s artistic practice focuses on human and non-human relationships – viewing human beings as part of an expansive, material network, stretching inside and outside of our bodies. Graff's creations demonstrate how the human body is affected by external influences, such as bacteria, and the harmful effects of the environment.

Ane Graff, born in 1974, integrates a diverse range of research fields, including critical theory, microbiology and chemistry. She graduated from Bergen National Academy of the Arts in 2004 and currently holds a position of PhD Research Fellow at the Oslo Academy of Fine Art.
