He is widely considered as one of the most prominent poets in the contemporary Arab poetry. He’s published a staggering number of 45 books for the Arab library and literature until now, including 19 collections of poetry and 4 poetic plays. Gowaida’s plays and poems have been translated into more than 13 languages. He received the State Appreciation Award in Literature and numerous international awards such as the Constantine Cavafy Award, Albabtain Kuwaiti Award, UAE International Award for Poets of Peace, as well as being decorated with an honorary United Nations Medal; and his beautiful poems were made into songs by by the likes of Somaya Qaysar and Kadim Al Sahir.
