Ghassan Yousif Alshehabi

 A well-known Bahraini journalist, Ghassan Yousif Alshehabi has over thirty years of experience in the field of journalism. He obtained his bachelor’s in 1989 and a master’s in 2018 in Arabic language from the University of Bahrain. Since 1989, he has worked as a journalist, writing for many platforms and magazines, including Alkhaleej UAE, Alsharq, Alqataria, Forbes Middle East and AlRay Kuwait. 
 In 2001, Alshahbani was chosen to be one of ten media and culture professional voices for establishing a new journalism law in Bahrain, which was sponsored by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, H.R.H. Salman bin Hamad Alkhalifa. 
 With a strong passion for journalism, Alshahbani has successfully established several daily newspapers and journals, including: Alwasat in 2002, Alwatan in 2005, Alwaqt in 2006, and finaly Aswaq in 2008. Currently, he is a member of the Editorial Board for the Bahrain Althaqafya magazine, which has been published by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities since 2016. 
 Alshehabi has been recognized with many distinguished awards, the most notable of which is the Arab Journalism Award in Dubai for the category of Political Journalism. He has also won many other prestigious awards for the investigative journalism work he conducted between 2011 and 2022.
Alshehabi has also had the opportunity to be an awards juror as well, including for the Children’s Fair in the article category (for three consecutive years), the Areej Investigative Journalism Awards in the written journalism category (for four consecutive years), the Khalifa bin Salman Journalism Award (for two rounds), and many others. 
 Alshehabi has written several books, including Ghazi Al Gosaibi: The Shade of a Spectra, Shawahiq the Daughter of Hadid, Rashid Al Oraifi: the Possessed by Legends and Odysseys, Nationalism and National Forces in Bahrain and Kuwait: Challenges to the Project of a Modern State.
