Hisham Fahmy: Egyptian author and translator. Born in Alexandria and an alumnus from its university in 2006. He worked as a writer and translator in a number of newspapers and magazines, translating a number of works by international authors. He is best known for his translation of The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, and his part in translating the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin.
