Panellist- Nora Aldabal

Arts and Creative Planning Director at the Royal Comission of AlUla

Nora Aldabal is Arts and Creative Planning Director at the Royal Commission of AlUla (RCU).

With more than 10 years’ experience in the fields of art, design, and innovation, her work focuses on developing creative initiatives and cultural assets, and establishing partnerships in line with the cultural strategy. This most recently took the form of Desert X AlUla, a curated exhibition integrated within the landscape of AlUla in partnership with Desert X.

 

Aldabal began her career in the auction business then moved to Ithra, the Dhahran-based international cultural hub, where she served as Head of Museum, managing the development of the different galleries. She was part of the pilot team that launched a cultural diplomacy program to create an international platform to support Saudi talent globally. Aldabal’s other initiatives included a creative solutions program and international art exhibitions. In 2018, she joined the Saudi General Entertainment Authority as part of the sector development team with a focus on local content, where she worked on key cultural diplomacy programs.

 

Aldabal obtained an MSc in Arts Management from Boston University and a BSc in Visual Communication from the American University of Sharjah.
