Tariq Khawaji is Ithra’s chief librarian, as well as cultural consultant and supervisor of the iRead Reading Program. He is also a writer and film critic with interests in fiction, cinema, anime, video games and art history. He is the author of the books “Anime Castle” and “The Piper at the Gates of Dawn.” He has also written articles that have been published in the Alsharq Alawsat, AlWatan and Riyadh newspapers.

He is a graduate in contemporary doctrine from Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. Following graduation, he worked as a teacher in Riyadh and Eastern Province, then moved to Saudi Aramco as an editor, later working in the team at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) on cultural and media programs, and currently as chief librarian for Ithra.
