Yasser Madkhali
Yasser Madkhali is a Saudi playwriter who was part of several plays as an actor, author and director. He got his Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and Literature and his Master’s degree in Social Defense and Human Rights from King Abdulaziz University.
He has produced several works in the fields of culture and entertainment. He has also worked across different sectors such education, administration, law and media.
Madkhali is a prolific creator of plays, screenplays, and tv series across different genres. He further demonstrated his unique talents both nationally and internationally through a list of works in which he collaborated with various directors and artists that participated in several cultural festivals.
Yasser recently worked as a supervisor of theater production during the 2021-2022 Riyadh Season as well as holding the position of the Manager of Writing in Sila Company. He has won many awards such as first place in the Sharqa Award for Playwriters in 2018, as well as third place in 2022, he also won second place in the national Award for Theater and Arts in 2021 and was honored in regional and national theater festivals.
Madkhali also established the theater forum in the cultural literature club in Jeddah, in which he initiated the Arabic theater critic contest; and in the same year announced the Arabic Theater Icons initiative. Yasser also led several workshops related to theater and published his book the Theater of How (مسرح كيف) in 2021, documenting his experience to set an example for aspiring playwriters.
