Dr. Suzan Alyahya
CEO of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth)
Dr. Suzan Alyahya is an accomplished leader in arts and culture; she is the CEO of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth) and was responsible for overseeing this flagship, first-of-its-kind institute from conception through to implementation. Dr. Suzan played an instrumental role in developing WRTH’s mandate and ensuring the successful completion of the initiation and design phases. Once these were completed, Dr. Suzan assumed the CEO position, which she has filled since May 2021.
Before her involvement with the Ministry of Culture on the WRTH project, Dr. Suzan was the Vice Dean of the College of Arts and Design and Director of Partnerships and Development at Princess Noura Bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Suzan holds a Ph.D. in Educational Technology with a minor in leadership from the University of North Colorado, USA; a master’s degree in Art Education from King Saud University, KSA; and a bachelor’s degree in Art Education from PNU. She is a published author, having conducted extensive research in education, art education, and technology.
