Dr. Zuhur Kiram

A novelist, critic, academic, documentary screenwriter, and editor-in-chief for Digital Connections (Rawabet Raqmiah) magazine, Dr. Zuhur Kiram specializes in discourse analysis and digital culture. She is an associate professor of Higher Education at Mohammed V University in Rabat, where she is also Head of Scientific Projects and PhD Research Units, and the Head of the Language Creativity and New Media Laboratory. She is also an expert consultant for several major Arabic organisations. She is a trainer for self-development, novel writing workshops, cultural projects and women’s leadership. Dr. Kiram was awarded a Royal Moroccan Sash at the 2012 Casablanca International Book Fair. In 2019, she received a silver medal for Changemakers in the Arab World – the first Moroccan woman to be awarded this medal. Her other awards include the Katara Award for Arab Novels. Dr. Kiram was named by the Electronic Literature Organization in the US on their list of women specializing in digital literature around the world. She has also been a visiting professor at international universities and a panel member for many Arabic literature awards, including: the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, Al Owais Awards, the Booker Prize, the Katara Award, and the Book Award of the Moroccan Ministry of Culture, among others.
