Dr. Kumail Muhammed Almusaly

Kumail Muhammed Almusaly is a Curator at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Born in Qatif, Almusaly earned his PhD in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Florida’s Nova Southeastern University; the title of his dissertation was Painting our Conflict: A Thematic Analysis on the Role of Artist in Conflict Resolution and Peacemaking.

He participated in many art shows and exhibitions locally and internationally and curated several exhibitions for a group of Qatif artists. He also represented the Kingdom in the first Youth Biennale in Cairo in 2005.

During his work at Ithra, he oversaw a number of successful exhibitions that were held in the Great Hall, including the “Leonardo da Vinci and the Codex Atlantics Across Time and Space” exhibition, which includes Leonardo da Vinci’s manuscripts, Edvard Munch’s “Treasures of the Soul” exhibition, the “Dialogue in the Dark” exhibition, and the “Kingdom of Cultures” exhibition, which coincided with the 90th anniversary of Saudi National Day, in addition to the “Terra", that discussed the significance of sustainability, and co-curated the “Hijrah: in the Footsteps of the Prophet ﷺ Exhibit”
