Walaa Sindi holds an MFA in Animation and Visual Effects from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, USA 2015, and has collaborated with the likes of Pixar and BlueSky and others. She is an animation director, academic and one of the founders of the Academic Program for Filmmaking and Animation in the Department of Cinema and Theater Arts, College of Arts and Design, at a Saudi university, and has contributed to developing several academic programs in the same field for a number of Saudi universities. She worked as a part-time consultant for public and semi-public entities, as well as the commercial and non-profit sectors.

Sindi was nominated by MBC Academy and Generation 2030 for the 3D Animation external scholarship program at Gobelins L'image in France in 2022, one of the top schools in the field of animation. She aims to raise the Saudi animation industry and build community awareness by providing courses, workshops and dialogue sessions across the fields of design and animation at venues such as Misk Foundation, Misk Art Institute, Saudi Design Festival, Effat University, Riyadh Art, Film Commission and the Saudi National Museum. She is also a member of the Saudi Film Association and the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts.
