The King of Shoulders
By DNA
The Kingdom is keen to preserve Saudi culture and share it with the world through initiatives such as the Year of Arabic Poetry. In this spirit, we present this work about the Saudi Bisht, an outer garment worn by royalty, and others on the most important occasions. The whole world was introduced to the Bisht when Lionel Messi donned one after winning the World Cup, and Cristiano Ronaldo wore one in a famous AlNassr Club advertisement. What is the story behind the Bisht? And will the upcoming initiative be the Year of the Saudi Bisht?
The Last Agha
By Thamanyah LLC
This documentary has the potential to resonate globally as it addresses a significant humanitarian issue. For centuries, the Guardians of the Two Holy Mosques (Aghas) have remained largely unknown because they are constrained by limited Arabic communication skills and bound by a strict military system that does not allow deviation from the rules.
In this in-depth documentary, we aim to seize a rare opportunity to document this history that teeters on the edge of being forgotten. We engage with the Guardians, their wives and widows to tell their story from their perspective while gaining insights about our own identity through a different lens.
