Ayman Jamal

Ayman Jamal is well known as the founder and producer of Barajoun Studios, a leading animation and visual effects studio in the MENA region. His dream to share the stories of forgotten heroes from time immemorial led him to initiate the formation of Barajoun Studios back in 2013. His passion for storytelling inspired him to produce and direct his first full animation feature film "Bilal", which tells a story about faith, hope, and courage.

The "Bilal" film has drawn enormous applause and gained recognitions and awards worldwide since its first launch in 2016. "Bilal" has won "The Best Inspiring Movie" on the Animation Day during Cannes Film Festival in 2016 and an official selection at the Annecy Film Festival in the same year. "Bilal" was also nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards or "APSA", the region’s highest accolade for film and was screened at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA in March 2017. It was also included in the list of "The 100 Best Animated Movies of All Time" by USA Today and was featured as one of "The best movies of 2018 as selected by IMDB users".
Followed by "Bilal", Barajoun Studios produced more than 1,200 hours of inspiring animation stories.

Back in 2022, Ayman co-founded Ideation studios. A studio that is focused to make a positive impact in Saudi society through producing Saudi films and TV series, and drive sustainable production that encourages youth to be storytellers, and to create access and introduce opportunities for new talents.
Ideation Studios kicked off its production by producing three Netflix originals. The first one will be launched early 2024.

Ayman Jamal has been included as one of the top 10 filmmakers in the Arab world back in May 2016 in Variety Magazine during Cannes Film Festival and recently ranked as number 31 in the Top list of public intellectuals of Global Influence’ edition "Thought Leaders in the Arab World".
