Greg Foot

Greg Foot is a Science Journalist who has been writing, hosting and producing science content for 15+ years across TV, radio, YouTube, podcast and stage. He has made a range of stuff – from investigative documentaries on TV, radio and podcast, to ambitious interactive live shows for families on YouTube, to eye-catching experiments on live TV, and engaging keynotes and spectacular science shows on stages around the world.
Currently, he writes and hosts a weekly BBC Radio consumer science show and podcast called "Sliced Bread” where he investigates the bold claims made by promising-sounding products, uncovering whether they are indeed “the best thing since sliced bread” or not.
Through lockdown, he co-made "Let's Go Live”, a popular, interactive and super engaging science show that won “Best Youtube Channel” at the prestigious international children's content awards, KidScreen, last year.
He graduated in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and his science communication career started with his presenting science TV programs for the BBC: first, a CBBC series making kids’ invention ideas a reality, then BBC Three's first science show (using stunts to answer pop science questions), then a series on the future of food for BBC World News, and then “Factomania” for BBC Worldwide (as well as a couple of pilots for BBC America).
He was also a regular on popular long-running TV shows “Blue Peter” and “Sunday Brunch,” taking science demos along to perform on the live shows.
He has given many keynotes telling the stories of his science adventures.
“Everest Lab”: the story of his trek up into the cold, thin air of the Himalayas with a group of medics rewriting the way they treat sick patients in hospitals.
“Deep Ocean Lab”: his 1000 ft dive in a high-tech submersible into the deep, dark ocean to do a health check of the planet.
“Rainforest Lab”: the story of his scientific adventure into the heart of the Amazon rainforest to meet researchers doing a range of conservation biology projects up in the canopy.
He has toured science theater shows across the UK and worldwide, and he hosts events, awards and social content for great clients like LEGO, Frontiers, AXA, Raspberry Pi, Honda F1 and many more. He also runs a digital-first production studio sciencemedia.studio that helps brands, research groups and charities tell their science stories. He was also a regular on popular long-running TV shows ‘Blue Peter’ and ‘Sunday Brunch’, taking science demos along to perform on the live shows.
