Nahid Al Shawa
Nahid Al Shawa began writing and publishing for children in 2000. Her goal was to provide children with creative, fun, and purposeful books with beautiful illustrations.
She obtained a Master of Business Administration from the University of Liverpool, Britain, in 2008. She is the founder of Noon Books (Nahed Al Shawa Cultural Foundation) in Canada. She successfully led the strategic direction and general management of the publishing house, promoting growth and cultural enrichment in the children’s literature scene in the region. She also played a prominent role in developing a passion for reading among children and youth, contributing to the promotion of human thought. She received appreciation from prominent cultural and governmental institutions in the Middle East for her contributions to the field of children’s literature and contributed to enriching the content of many programs and school curricula, in addition to United Nations programs for childhood development, through the inclusion of selected books.
Nahid has achieved widespread appreciation and admiration for her published works, which are nearly 200 titles and have received critical praises. She raised the level of Arabic books directed at children through what the house publishes, and many of the book titles reached the short list and also won valuable awards.
