Batoul al-Rashdan is an award-winning high-tech designer with a background in architectural engineering and a decade of experience in design and digital fabrication. She holds two prestigious postgraduates: one in digital fabrication and the other in innovative textiles at the intersection of textile, biology and technology. Al-Rashdan won Distributed Design Awards 2022 and is currently a finalist for TDA and FTA.
As the founder of Studio B.O.R., al-Rashdan is a driving force in the world of sustainable fashion. Her work combines science, technology and design to create high-tech, eco-friendly clothing and
accessories. She's an advocate for responsible creativity, guided by values of responsibility, integrity,
innovation and collaboration.

 

Al-Rashdan's innovative approach includes 3D-printed fashion/products, biodesign and hi-tech wearable
architecture. Her materials range from sustainable bioplastics to upcycled wood waste, contributing
to a circular and modular design ethos. She's well-known for her pioneering efforts in recycling food waste into fashion and décor products, including unique bio coins and clothing.

 

Her work has garnered recognition worldwide, with features in publications including the World Economic Forum, Forbes and Yahoo News. She has exhibited her creations in various countries (Switzerland, Italy, Spain, USA, France, Germany, UAE, Egypt, etc.) and participated in international runway shows, highlighting the transformative power of sustainable fashion.
