A former occasional pirate radio DJ, theater director, and TV news presenter, Ramsey Naja left his native Lebanon to move to the UK in 1985. He collected an MA in Drama and TV from Hull University and following stints in consultancy and advertising in London, joined J. Walter Thompson in 1994 and was appointed Chief Creative Officer for Middle East and North Africa in 2004. Under Naja’s stewardship, JWT MENA became a creative powerhouse and one of the region’s most awarded networks, with regular international recognition in all the major award shows. It was voted regional network of the year three times and most effective network twice. His contribution to the business was equally strong, with JWT constantly amongst the top three regional agencies. Naja was promoted to CCO for the MEA region in 2012. He left the agency in June 2020 to work as a creative/strategy consultant for various agencies and clients as well as creating content for major broadcasters, before returning to agency life by joining DDB Dubai as Regional ECD. Ramsey is a regular columnist in Campaign ME magazine and a frequent speaker at major industry events.
