Hernan Hoentsch, a French / Bolivian product designer trained in Barcelona, is passionate about design, photography and art. The ability of objects to communicate is what inspired him to be a designer, and he believes that this communication is a powerful tool for self-expression. Hoentsch is highly focused on design prototyping — going from an idea, to a drawing, to a physical object — and has spent endless hours in the shop building prototypes, both to better understand the materials, and, in turn, the industry. His vision of design is based on the elimination of all superfluous elements within his work, streamlining the process of creating, and leaving an honest expression of materials, to emphasize the sense of order and structure.
