Artist, Designer, Founder

Ross Lovegrove, born in 1958, graduated with 1st Class BA Honors in Industrial Design from Manchester Polytechnic in 1980 and earned a Master’s of Design at the Royal College of Art, London, in 1983. In the early '80s, he worked for Frog Design in West Germany on projects for Sony and Apple before moving to Paris as a consultant for Knoll International, creating the successful Alessandri Office System. In 1984, he joined Atelier de Nimes with Jean Nouvel and Philippe Starck, consulting for Cacharel, Louis Vuitton, Hermès and Dupont. Returning to London in 1986, he collaborated with Airbus Industries, Kartell, Moroso, Luceplan, Peugeot, Apple, Vitra, Issey Miyake, Swarovski, Herman Miller, Renault and Samsung. Lovegrove has won numerous international awards, with his work extensively published and exhibited globally, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Guggenheim Museum, the Centre Pompidou and the Design Museum in London, where he curated the first permanent design collection in 1993. His work is part of the permanent collections of several design museums, including MoMA in New York, the Design Museum in London, the Vitra Design Museum in Basel, Die Neue Sammlung in Munich and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
